Recognizing the huge potential market the Ultima Electronic Corp. was founded in 1983, the budding period of the PC industry in Taiwan, at Tu-cheng, Taipei County. Starting from the production of capacitor keyboard and the selling of various computer peripheral products, Ultima has grown into a well-known scanner and CD-ROM manufacturer with sales of US$ 367 million in 2001 and estimated sales over US$ 500 million in year 2002. Its capital also grows to US$ 70.5 million from a mere 0.36 million since its foundation.
The Ultima has a wide range of product lines including the flatbed scanner, hand-held scanner, dual-purpose scanner for the photos and the positive films, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD+RW. On the agency side, it sells the the products of Mosel, Winbond, ESMT, SMC, National Semiconductor, Atmel, Micrel, Texas Instruments, etc. It provides customers "Total Solution" service through One-Stop Shopping to lower customers purchasing costs. It provides differential product combinations to customers for improving their competitiveness.
